Voluntary Organisations

Winchester City Council acknowledges the significant contribution that the voluntary and community sector makes to the support and well being of its residents and to the range and diversity of the activities and services they provide.
We work in partnership with Winchester Area Community Action (WACA) - the Council for Voluntary Service supporting voluntary and community activity in the Winchester District.
WACA exists to:
- Provide information and support for voluntary and community groups
- Promote networking and liaison among voluntary groups and with statutory agencies
- Develop services to meet community needs
- Represent the voice of the community, the voluntary sector and service users
- Support and develop the voluntary sector in the Winchester District
- Strategic Partnership and the Social Inclusion Partnership, as well as other strategic work.
WACA gives local organisations a co-ordinated voice and involves them in consultation and policy making.
