Neighbourhood Warden Scheme
Winchester City Councils Neighbourhood Wardens primarily cover Stanmore, Winnall, Weeke, Highcliffe and the City Centre.
The Neighbourhood Wardens work towards creating a safer, cleaner and greener Winchester through engaging with the local community and actively responding to community issues.
Issues tackled include:
- Removing graffiti
- Fly tipping - investigation and removal
- Litter complaints
- Overgrown shrubbery
- Abandoned vehicles
- Untaxed vehicles
- Discarded needles and drugs litter
- Abandoned trolleys
- Neighbour nuisance
Community Involvement activities:
- Working in partnership with both statutory and voluntary agencies
- Supporting residents meetings and forums
- Updating community notice boards
- Projects and education both in schools and the community
The Neighbourhood Wardens team is here to help and will be happy to listen to your suggestions as to what would help improve your local area.
Previous Wardens projects and achievements can be viewed on their other web pages as well as any upcoming projects or activities that you can be involved in.
Over the last year the Neighbourhood Wardens successfully dealt with over 1000 issues in their communities.
The Neighbourhood Wardens work Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm, but will also try to attend any weekend community events where appropriate.
