Butchers Licence

Butchers no longer require a Licence.

New Regulations came into force on 1 January 2006 which requires all businesses to have a documented Food Safety Management System. It is recommended that you continue to use the system that was set up by you to comply with the now revoked butchers licensing laws.

This is in accordance with the Food Hygiene (England) Regulations 2006. You can find out more about the background to the 2006 food hygiene legislation on www.food.gov.uk
