Property Name Change

Any property owner can name their property. The Address Management team will register the property name so long as it does not conflict with an existing property name in that locality.

However if your property has an existing house number you should be aware that it is Royal Mail policy when property is numbered to have names as an alias within their database and they advise when asked for your postcode and subsequent confirmation of your address, you continue to use your house number to avoid confusion.

You should also be aware that the Royal Mail Postcodes online database will only show the number of your property.
