Market Town Healthchecks
The four market towns in Winchester, (Alresford, Bishops Waltham, Denmead and Wickham), are bustling centres of activity in the rural area. Winchester City Council supports them as locations for business, socialising, community events and tourism.
Community planning is a great way of bringing local residents, businesses and other stakeholders together, and find a common way forward for your town or village. This can be achieved by undertaking a market town healthcheck, or alternatively through a parish plan or design statement.
There are three key documents that form a package to support and guide you through the process of developing a market town healthcheck, all available to download at the foot of the page:
- Market Towns Healthcheck Handbook
- Winchester Community Planning Guidance
- Winchester Community Planning Protocol
If you want to get involved, and shape the future of your market town, contact our Community Planning Manager, Steve Lincoln, on 01962 848 110 or email slincoln@winchester.gov.uk.
