Economic Development
Both Winchester City Council and Winchester District Strategic Partnership are committed to developing the economic prosperity of the district. Kate Crawford is the Economic Development Officer working on a variety of projects to meet this aim, and should be the first point of contact in the council for anything business-related.
An economic action plan has been written to guide the Council's and other partners' work towards economic prosperity. This can be downloaded from the link below.
Research papers into Winchester's economy include the following;
- Hampshire Economic Partnership and the University of Portsmouth have produced the economic factsheet below.

Market Town Healthchecks
The four market towns in Winchester, (Alresford, Bishops Waltham, Denmead and Wickham), are bustling centres of activity in the rural area. Winchester City Council supports them as locations for business, socialising, community events and tourism.
