Economic Development
Each year, Winchester City Council consults with the local business community about how best to allocate its budget. This year, businesses attended a meeting on 27th January, and heard from Cllr Freddie Allgood and Cllr George Beckett. A useful discussion also took place about budgets and the Council's economic development work. The presentation from the event can be downloaded at the bottom of this page.
Research papers into Winchester's economy include the following;
- Hampshire Economic Partnership and the University of Portsmouth have produced the economic factsheet below.
- The Local Futures group assessed the current state of Winchester District in economic, social and environmental terms. You can find out more about the State of Winchester District
- Results of the current employment land and economic study are available with other planning research.
