If you are in search of a venue with a difference for a drinks reception or special celebration, Winchester Museums can provide a choice of spectacular and prestigious locations. The ancient medieval gateway which is now the Westgate museum, with its roof top views of the city, offers a magnificant setting for entertaining.

You can even hire the whole of the City Museum, situated in The Square adjacent to Winchester Cathedral. All three floors of the museum are open for your special event. We can also help with a range of services and facilities to enhance your event, including catering, audio visual equipment and private guided tours by our expert curatorial team.

Winchester Museums are a 20 minute walk away from the city's train station, with its fast link into London Waterloo, and just 20 minutes' drive from Southampton's international airport.

Price for Hire
Basic hire charges are as follows:

City Museum - £500 plus VAT for evening hire from 6pm.

Westgate Museum - £350 plus VAT for evening hire from 6pm.
